St John's Ace Hardware

Ace is my go to hardware store in town. I love popping through to grab annual plants for the bees during the warm months. The selection of seeds and soils and nutrients is good for my indoor and outdoor plants. I happened upon some purple Brussel sprouts this year! The dahlias I purchased were well groomed and twice as large as the ones I started from tubers. I wish there was a Dahlia tubers selection and I did notice the heirloom organic botanically selection while large was not totally inclusive. This is where I get all my trimming tools as well using coupons and points from the Ace Hardware App. It's a pain to use but worth it if you check it out. This place is my go to key cutting shop also. Friendly folks from around the hood I usually see someone I know. Keep it local.

Bob saved my day. My car key decided it wanted to snap in half on Saturday, one that I had gotten made there 4.5yrs ago. The assistant manager told me they didn't have the template so I left. When I tried to unlock my vehicle, the key nearly snapped completely and I went back in desperately asking for them to try again. Bob stepped up, took a look and said they did in fact have the template. He cut it himself and saved me from extravant tow fees and alternate transportation fees. Give Bob a raise, he is stellar human being.

I bought a water pump that was Ace brand and came with a year warranty about 6 months ago, it failed. So called Ace Corp. and inquired how I get the warranty replacement and was informed just to exchange it at the store I purchased it from. So I gather receipt an pump and go to the local store I always shop at and where i purchase this pump. The clerk asked if I had other shopping, and I said yes, the clerk told me to just leave it there with him. So I round up the things I needed and grabbed a replacement pump, I set my items on the counter, and the clerk rings me up for my items and the pump I picked up for replacement. I said to him this pump is a warranty replacement and he calls the asst manager, he informs me he can't take it back. I said why? He tells me the owner won't take back pumps. I asked well why not it says year warranty on the box, and corporate said to bring it here for exchange. The asst manager said he doesn't know why and can't take it back. I asked if he could call his higher up, and he says, "Oh no, no, I can't call the owner, and he went home at 4. I said, "Is there a number or option where I can get this pump replaced under said warranty, and he informed me he had no idea. I said well you should put a big sign up that you won't honor the Ace brand warranties stated with there product. Maybe even stop stocking the brand altogether if the store isn't going to back up the product with its written warranty. I believe this is consumer fraud if I'm not mistaken neededless to say, but I will be taking the 1000s of dollars I spend here to Home Depot as I am disappointed that such a situation happened here. I understand returning items aimlessly from customers who fraud things are a problem, but this was a simple warranty exchange that the owner would have been reimbursed for.
